Quality Manager | Greater Belfast | £35k - £40k

Vickerstock are continuing to work exclusively in close partnership with a Global leader in the Food Manufacturing and Production industry in the recruitment of a Quality Manager. The Company are at the forefront of technology and industry driven innovation and are experiencing exponential growth. Due to this they require a robust Quality Manager to lead and manage the Technical and Quality function on site.

 

Overview

The Quality Manager will be responsible for controlling the day to day quality activities of the site in addition to maintaining and improving the sites Quality Management System, conducting audits and leading / developing the Quality Department. The Quality Manager will report to the Senior Management Team and be responsible for full Technical / Quality Management of the site.

 

Duties

The Quality Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for the daily management of the Quality management systems across the site.
  • Conduct internal and lead on 3rd party / BRC / HACCP / GMP and Environmental Audits. Leadership of the HACCP team, involved in validation & review of HACCP plans.
  • Hands on involvement with Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Development and maintenance of Quality procedures product specifications.
  • Leading and developing a team of 10 Quality staff.
  • Management of calibration, verification, maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Management of the HACCP audit schedule.
  • Developing a culture of audit readiness at all times.
  • Working with major multiple retailers and building sustainable and lasting relationships.
  • Management and co-ordination of microbiological testing of product and surfaces after cleaning.
  • Root cause analysis of non-conformances and implementing corrective actions to continually improve operations.
  • Management of traceability throughout the supply chain to meet legislative and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for supplier approval, including supplier auditing & reviews.
  • Liaise with EHO, DARD & NIEA in relation to quality, food safety and environmental requirements.
  • Monitoring quality of incoming ingredients and packaging, including receipt of Certificates of analysis.
  • Managing the site trend analysis and reporting.

 

Criteria/Essential Experience

The Quality Manager must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Food Technology
  • Experience of leading 3rd party and internal audits, BRC, Customer etc
  • Good understanding BRC V7
  • Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems

 

This is a full time permanent role and the hours of work are 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

 

Salary: £35k - £40k
