To prepare food for all food outlets and banquets. To ensure the expected high standards of health & safety, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the kitchen area as a whole.

 

We are currently recruiting for Full time Pastry Chef to join our wonderful team in our kitchen.

Based in modern and contemporary surroundings you will be required to contribute to the hotels success. You should have a dynamic, personable nature, can do attitude and an eye for details.

You will know and understand what it means to deliver amazing hospitality and will thrive on the challenge of always surpassing our member’s and guest’s expectations. You will be expected to achieve a level of service through the constant monitoring of our established brand standards. As a result you should be highly attentive to detail and be capable of delivering consistent standards. In this type of industry teamwork is key; you should be able to be a strong team player willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Trainee Pastry Chef

Responsible to: Executive Chef, Management / Directors

Main Purpose:  To prepare food for all food outlets and banquets. To ensure the expected high standards of health & safety, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the kitchen area as a whole.

Main tasks and duties

  • To ensure smooth operational procedures within the kitchen;
  • To maintain and adhere to the company’s health and safety policies;
  • To ensure hygiene standards are maintained at all times;
  • To prepare food to the standards set by management;
  • To exercise portion control over all items served;
  • To prepare all food at a consistently high quality;
  • To ensure that quality standards are consistently high;
  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance;
  • To ensure effective communication to management and peers;
  • To attend training courses as and when necessary;
  • To ensure that due care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees and any other persons on the premises;
  • Report and where appropriate take action on any incident, accident, fire, loss or damage;
  • To order, check and accept deliveries of goods and equipment as necessary;
  • To report all maintenance issues and take appropriate action;
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.
