Description

An excellent Part Time opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Officer to provide maternity cover for our client based in Belfast City Centre.

 

Responsibilities Include:
* Assist the HR Manager in handling day to day employee relations issues such as grievance, discipline and other performance related matters.
* Advise and direct other managers on HR matters.
* Assist the HR Manager in the implementation of effective procedures for managing and assessing employee performance.
* Assist HR Manager in preparation of policies and procedures relating to equality of opportunity.
* Assist the HR Manager in the area of staff development.
* Provide support and advice to staff on employment related issues
* Recruitment and selection - work with the HR Manager to maintain recruitment policies and procedures in line with best practice.
* Draft HR policies and procedures as required.
* Responsible for ensuring that all relevant legislation and requirements from the Equality Commission are met through all processes
* Update and maintain HR system/database & manage salaries and wages admin
* Responsible for day to day HR administration such as sickness and absence recording, maternity and paternity leave, holiday records etc.

Essential Criteria:
* Minimum of 2 years' HR Generalist experience gained in a similar role
* Thorough knowledge of relevant employment legislation
* Experience in administering effective recruitment processes
* Experience in the administration of a HR/Personnel function
* 5 GCSEs grades A - C (including English Language) or equivalent
* Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in the administration of a HR/Personnel function
* CIPD membership or working towards it
* Third level qualification
