MLR Careers has been retained to assist them in identifying and appointing an experienced Head of Finance.

The role

You will be responsible for all areas of financial management and governance. As a key member of the senior management team, you will support the Managing Director through effectively performing a range of duties including, but not limited to:

• Production of monthly accounts
• Variance analysis
• Statutory year-end reporting and file preparation for external auditors
• Production accounting and review across all productions, including cost reports to date in all relevant currencies
• Producing programme budgets, rolling budget maintenance and year-end projections for turnover and profit
• Continuous update and review of current business plans
• Management and growth of all back-end sales and distributions
• Management of all foreign exchange exposure across all banks and productions
• Funding applications to statutory bodies
• Cashflow management
• Monthly payroll and all HMRC PAYE/VAT processing
• Corporation and personal tax planning for the group and directors, including R&D tax credit reviews
• Company secretarial duties and involvement in legal issues and contractual negotiations

Essential qualifications, experience and attributes 

• Recognised accountancy qualification – CIMA, ACCA
• Extensive post qualification experience in a similar role – 5+ years
• Advanced Excel. PowerPoint skills advantageous
• Extensive experience of an accounting package such as Xero or Sage
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ideally, previous experience of working within the media industry
