GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS (GDPR) PROJECT ANALYST TEMPORARY- UP TO 9 MONTHS SALARY SCALE: £29,317 - £31,446 per annum plus £3,640 ICT allowance. BELFAST.

 

JOB TITLE: GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS (GDPR) PROJECT ANALYST

POST TYPE: TEMPORARY

DURATION: UP TO 9 MONTHS

UNIT: COMPUTER SERVICES

DIVISION: DIGITAL SERVICES

GRADE: STAFF OFFICER (SO)

LINE MANAGER: DIGITAL PROJECT MANAGER

SALARY SCALE: £29,317 - £31,446 per annum plus £3,640 ICT allowance.

LOCATION: BELFAST. However may be expected to travel within Northern Ireland and to the Republic of Ireland to fulfil the requirements of the post.

HOURS OF WORK: Normal working hours are 9am - 5.15pm - Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the position, there may be a requirement to work outside normal working hours.

ANNUAL LEAVE: Leave allowance is 25 days p.a. plus 12 Public and Bank Holidays.

Digital Work Programme

My client appointed a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) in February 2017. Tasked with accelerating the digital ambition of the organisation, the CDO has been engaging with a range of stakeholders, industry representatives and technology sector organisations to help define and validate a Digital Transformation Work Programme.

This work programme, which is clearly aligned to the Programme for Government (PfG) outcomes, includes a range of internal, industry facing and collaborative digital work streams, was presented to and approved by the Board in June 2017.

The core objectives of this Digital Work Programme are to:

  • Remove Complexity;
  • Replace Silos;
  • Reduce Inefficiences; and to
  • Reinvent the Digital Experience.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Job Holder will work with the Digital and ICT Teams to lead a GDPR compliance programme.

MAIN DUTIES

The Job Holder will be responsible for the following areas and activities:

  • Lead the identification of business processes and systems that relate to personal data and are deemed in-scope for GDPR.
  • Carry out GDPR workshops across the company.
  • Conduct a gap analysis on current policies against GDPR requirements and make recommendations.
  • Lead a risk based approach for the application/implementation of GDPR.
  • Provide regulatory and operational support for the Chief Digital Officer.
  • Project plan - prepare a detailed project plan for all compliance activities.
  • Lead the GDPR working group including chairing project meetings and owning all communications.

Staff Management

  • Support Unit Manager in recruiting, managing, motivating and developing the team to ensure that key activities are undertaken professionally in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Support the Unit Manager to ensure that Unit activities are managed in line with company Policies and Procedures and values.
  • Provide Line Management responsibilities for the Team including coaching and learning and development.

Additional Duties

  • Assist in the delivery of project work within the Unit and across the company including representation at working groups and meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Annual Unit Operating Plan, the achievement of targets and promote corporate values and behaviours within the Team and across the organisation.
  • Provide cover for Management within your Division to include decision making and attending meetings in their absence.
  • Attend training as and when required and keep abreast of current and projected developments in your area of work.
  • Provide briefing material and draft responses and reports/e-mails as and when required by the company Senior Management Team/Staff, the Department, the Assembly and members of the tourism industry/public within the specified timelines, in an appropriate and professional format.
  • Maintain, store and dispose of unit records in accordance with company policy including the use of the EDRM (Electronic Document Record Management) system.
  • Any other relevant duties required by the company management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA - EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • 3rd level qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 year's project management experience to include analysing and documenting organisational requirements and implementing solution
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in data protection (ideally GDPR/ePrivacy Regulation).

    The Job Holder will also possess a high standard of:


  • Strong knowledge of GDPR practices.
  • Excellent IT/Computer Literacy Skills.
  • An analytical mind with the ability to interpret data effectively and measure benefits and KPIs.
  • Strong relationship management skills with clients, suppliers and staff at all levels, and the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including the ability to communicate accurately and effectively.
  • The ability to work within a team environment, on own initiative and take the lead where necessary.

  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Applicants must also possess a current driving licence and use of a car for business purposes, or have access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to meet the requirements of the post in full.
