Grafton Engineering recruitment has been retained to recruit a Facilities Manager for the County Tyrone division of a global multi-national manufacturing firm. The company has been operating in Northern Ireland for over 20 years and have an exceptional reputation as a leading employer across the globe.

The role

Facilities Manager

Location: County Tyrone

Working hours: Days - Monday to Friday

Salary: Circa £37,000 per annum plus bonus

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall management and continuous improvement of the facilities functions for two separate sites. In particular this will relate to building infrastructures and roadways, services (oil, gases, steam if applicable). He/She will be tasked with local authority planning permissions, overseeing and planning of capital installations (both plant and machinery) and associated project management. There will be a particular emphasis on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation conformity for compressed air facilities, gantry craneage, gas storage, diesel storage and handling of hydraulic oils. Furthermore, factory fleet (both Forklift and lorries) upkeep and control will form part of his/her responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • To lead, manage and review the facilities teams
  • To repair and maintain the company buildings, equipment and roadway infrastructure two sites.
  • Project management of new and existing buildings and facilities including building control and local authority liaison and application administration and working with both internal and external contractors.
  • To ensure conformity to all UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • To prepare, forecast, manage and review the Facilities budgets on a monthly and annual basis
  • To manage Security Services, Cleaning Services and Canteen Services within the facilities
  • To maintain/upkeep the hire and purchase of company fleets, forklifts, lorries and any other material movement devices and mechanisms.
  • To make recommendations to the Directors for capital expenditures to assist the company growth whilst ensuring adherence to Government legislations at all times.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

Essential Criteria:

  • Preferably educated to Degree standard in an Engineering discipline with industrial experience in a similar role.
  • A health and safety or environmental qualification would be desirable
  • Experience of government legislation and the Health & safety at Work NI Order
  • Good working knowledge of civil and construction regulations
  • Good working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
  • Good working knowledge of planning/government regulations

Location

The position is based on 2 sites across County Tyrone & County Antrim and they would like to hear from candidates within an hour commute of each location.
