Description

The post holder is responsible for the introduction of a range of processes and schemes pertaining to customs clearance. The objective is to ensure that Almac is in the best state of readiness for the handling of customs clearance activities post Brexit whilst maintaining compliance.

The Role

The post holder is responsible for the introduction of a range of processes and schemes pertaining to customs clearance. The objective is to ensure that Almac is in the best state of readiness for the handling of customs clearance activities post Brexit whilst maintaining compliance. The aim is to ensure that additional time and cost is minimised in the post Brexit scenario. It is expected that a full understanding of the HMRC procedures and regulations pertaining to, Authorised Economic Operator, Customs Warehouse, and Inward Processing Relief will have to be researched and understood as part of the role. The post holder will facilitate the application process for some or all of these HMRC statuses.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) Or Significant experience in a Project Management / Process Development capacity
  • Experience of working within a Supply Chain capacity
  • Experience of Researching and implementing new business processes or systems
  • Supervisory experience

Desirable Criteria

  • Third level qualification in a Logistics/Transport or Business Management related discipline
  • Qualified to Masters Level or above
  • Knowledge of EU and UK Customs legislation including implementing processes to support customs regimes and procedures
  • Experience of working with Duty Management software or working directly with Customs Clearance systems
  • Knowledge of GMP or GDP
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems
