Job title: Commercial Head Chef Supervisor

Location: Belfast

Salary: £17,891-£22,434 (commensurate with experience)

Contract: Temporary Full-time

Belfast Met are seeking experienced applicants for Commercial Head Chef Supervisor to provide a high standard of customer service through a quality food and beverage offer in an effective, efficient and safe environment for commercial and corporate hospitality.

Salary: £17,891-£22,434 (commensurate with experience)

Working Pattern

Titanic Quarter (TQ) Campus -    Shift pattern approx. 4 shifts 7.30am – 3.30pm and 1 shift 7.30am – 2pm. Based at Titanic Quarter.

Evening and weekend work will also be required as per event and hospitality requirements.  (The post holder may be required to work in any of the College buildings as necessary).

What you need

  • Either hold a minimum of an  NVQ Level 2 qualification in Professional Cookery  or equivalent together with a minimum of three years’ experience in a Professional Cookery environment OR Have a minimum of four years’ experience working in a Professional Cookery environment
  • Hold Level 3 Supervising Food Safety or give a commitment to complete the certificate within 12 weeks of commencing employment* 
  • Demonstrable experience of stock ordering process and understanding of financial controls associated with kitchen management
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of supervising a team to deliver a high quality, efficient and safe service
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience menu planning, cooking and delivery of high volume event catering.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Safe Catering Plan and relevant Health & Safety (including COSHH)
  • Be IT literate in the use of Microsoft outlook, word and excel

* Successful candidates who do not hold Level 3 Supervising Food Safety will be required to successfully complete and pass the qualification within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the College. The College will support the candidate in completing the qualification in the first instance. Any subsequent resits must be carried out at the sole expense of the candidate.
