Reporting to the Planning/Customer Services Manager, we require an Assistant Production Planner to administer all stages of the planning process, assisting with data management and communication of information to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Assistant Production Planner

Reporting to the Planning/Customer Services Manager, we require an Assistant Production Planner to administer all stages of the planning process, assisting with data management and communication of information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Main Duties:

  • Administer all stages of the planning process, to include the creation of sales orders, the updating of planning systems and the obtainment of delivery schedules from customers.
  • Process customer forecasts and negotiated schedules with customers.
  • Plan production in an efficient manner and liaise with the production manager.
  • Ensure all forecasts are maintained, up-to-date and issued to relevant members of the management team.
  • Update the plan with any changes and circulate/communicate changes to all relevant people.
  • Process orders from retail customers ensuring they are completed in a timely manner in order for them to be delivered on time and in full, following up on any failed / missed deliveries
  • Liaise with customers on a daily basis with production updates and delivery orders.
  • Organise planning meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Use of Microsoft Office, Sage 1000 and Launch Pad reports on a daily basis.
  • Project production volumes based on the forecast for the current day and log accordingly.
  • Update the OEE system with new products / line speeds.
  • Report on customer Conformance to Plan (CTP) on a weekly basis
  • Update all prices on the sales forecast.
  • Liaise with hauliers on a daily basis.
  • Prepare monthly sales graphs for all retail orders.
  • Review all stock levels for retailers and plan production in rotation to avoid out of stock situations.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5 GCSE’s Grade A-C or equivalent to include Maths and English
  • 1 years’ experience working in an administrative role within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

Desirable criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Sage 1000
  • Experience working within a planning function
