Janus Programme: works with young people assessed as being at high risk of their current living arrangements breaking down. The programme offers a tailored intervention package in response to the needs and problems of the individual and is concerned to fully involve the young person, parent/carers and key agencies.

Kickstart : offers school groups, 1500 places per year, participative sports coaching delivered by qualified semi-professional coaches.

Independent Visitor Programme provides support to young people who are looked after under Article 31 of the Children Order.

Linden Services for Children: a holistic programme, aimed at young people with challenging behaviours aged 13-17 years and their families, provides

short-term residential placement, Multisystemic Therapy (MST) a community based programme that works with young people, their families and communities. A Youth Support Service which helps with young people link with recreational and community options; a Breakaway Service which provides a range of short stay programmes and Education Services which provide a teaching programme to young people in the residential unit.

Pathways: Provides an alternative, balanced and broad based education and training programme for 30 young people aged 15-16 years who are at serious risk of educational and social exclusion.

Passport & Early Years: Offers 8-13 year olds the opportunity to become involved in community activities, ‘away days’, homework tutorials and other support helping prevent children from being taken into care.

Remand Fostering: Provides community based accommodation placements (foster placements) supported by a dedicated worker for children as an alternative to a remand in custody.

Time Out: Individual programme meeting the needs of young people and their families by providing recreational and personal development break as an alternative to placement in short-term and/or long-term care.

Turning Point: Matches an “at risk” young person (aged 11-14) with a volunteer mentor, who work together on a one-to-one basis for a year, where the young person can be challenged, nurtured and supported.

Turning Point – Community in Schools: offers a mentoring service to young people from six local schools in the Belfast area.

Linx –Is offered to high-risk young people who are in need of individual intervention. Offers a minimum of 15 hours direct intervention per week with the young person and their family.

Youth Support: Group programme aimed at 11-14 year olds, having been assessed as being “in need” or those at “high risk” of reception into care/custody, and at lessening the risk factors involved in their current situation.

Roscor (Fermanagh) & Kinnahalla Youth Villages (Down): Provide a safe environment for young people to gain skills and make progress by participating in outdoor activities and a programme of support.

109 HOSTEL : Offers a comprehensive service for adult offenders and provides in-house independent life skills, personal development for residents, monitoring and support.

AXIS: (formerly Restyle) Provides supervision and monitoring services for medium to high-risk offenders. Provision is provided through vocational based training in Catering, French Polishing and Upholstery, Music, Drama, Essential Skill Education and Life Skills Training.

Circles of Support and Accountability: Facilitates a holistic way of working with ex-offenders based on recruiting volunteers who form a circle around the core member (an ex-offender), who enters into an agreement with the circle and decisions about tasks and activities are made by the circle as a whole.

Floating Support: provides a service for adults with an offending background. The project aims to provide supervision and support for ex-offenders who present with a wide range of problems and needs.

Homeless Support Team: Provides support to homeless people with mental health problems including alcohol and drug dependency. Also offers support to other hostels in the Belfast area and liaises with statutory agencies to help provide support and assistance.

Ormeau Centre: The centre offers accommodation for 36 individuals with multi-complex needs who would otherwise be homeless. The ethos is to provide a non-judgemental, caring and high tolerance environment to deal with the problems associated with homelessness.

Need to Know Programme. A community safety and development programme, operating in the Holylands area of Belfast, aimed at providing local communities with the opportunity to identify and address local issues with the support of the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
