Translink is the brand name of the integrated public transport operation in Northern Ireland of Citybus, NI Railways and Ulsterbus. The three operating companies have individual legal status.
The integration of Citybus, NI Railways and Ulsterbus began in January 1995 when Government announced comprehensive changes to the provision of public transport. The principle objective was to promote the transfer from private car to public transport on a sustainable basis and the co-ordination of bus and rail services.
A common management structure looks after the operations of the three companies and reports to a single Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company Board. Translink is one of the largest companies in Northern Ireland with approximately 3,700 employees and an annual turnover in excess of £100 Million. Over 70 Million passenger journeys are made on Translink services each year.
The Employee Support Officer reports to the HR Manager and is responsible for providing specific employee support and counselling services directly to the employees of Translink including the coordination of all aspects of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support.
