Translink is the brand name of the integrated public transport operation in Northern Ireland of Citybus, NI Railways and Ulsterbus. The three operating companies have individual legal status.
The integration of Citybus, NI Railways and Ulsterbus began in January 1995 when Government announced comprehensive changes to the provision of public transport. The principle objective was to promote the transfer from private car to public transport on a sustainable basis and the co-ordination of bus and rail services.
A common management structure looks after the operations of the three companies and reports to a single Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company Board. Translink is one of the largest companies in Northern Ireland with approximately 3,700 employees and an annual turnover in excess of £100 Million. Over 70 Million passenger journeys are made on Translink services each year.
You will take responsibility for all aspects of the on-train customer care environment, including passenger assistance/information, revenue protection, safety and all operational duties associated with the safe working of passenger services.
The post holder will be responsible for front line customer service duties primarily in stations dealing with customer complaints and assisting in delivering a high class punctual rail service.
The post holder is responsible for the detailed examination of all railway structures assets, ensuring that comprehensive reports are provided to show their condition, maintenance requirements and to inform decisions for their structural integrity for the safe passage of trains.
