The Cedar Foundation was established in 1941 in Northern Ireland, we provide services for people with physical disability and/or brain injury.
We are a regional organisation with over twenty service locations, we employ more than 250 staff, and we support 1,400 Service Users per annum.
Our Vision is a society in which disabled adults and children are fully included citizens.
Our Mission is to provide quality support, care, accommodation and training services to enable disabled adults and children to participate in all aspects of community life.
The Cedar Foundation provides services in the following main areas:
Training services provide essential support to people with disabilities to gain access to employment, further education, or training through a wide variety of person led programmes. These include computer skills, group based personal and social development training courses, preparation for employment through work placement and accessing Further Education.
Brain Injury Services
Brain Injury Services within The Cedar Foundation provide a vital service in local communities for people with acquired brain injury, which can be as a result of accident, stroke or assault. We provide rehabilitation programmes that deliver training and support to promote independence. This includes support for those wishing to live independently at home, gain employment or access Further Education. We achieve this by working in partnership with Employers, Colleges and Government agencies such as the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Children & Young People’s Services
Children & Young People’s services provide a range of programmes that are designed to empower and support disabled children & young people and their families. Our work promotes the opportunity for young people to gain more self confidence and independence to develop hobbies and interests as well as gain valuable life skills. The services promote social outreach and community inclusion, enabling young disabled people to participate in all aspects of their local community. We also support and advise young disabled people aged 14 – 20 years to ensure a smooth transition into adult life, helping them through the move from school to further education or employment.
The Cedar Foundation leads the way in providing state of the art accommodation for disabled people. These developments enable people to live in their own homes, promoting self esteem, creating a sense of community and inclusion – core to the Foundation’s values.
The Cedar Foundation applies a range of quality management systems to effectively manage its business:
European Foundation for Quality Management – The organisation has used the EFQM Excellence Model as a business improvement tool to good effect, twice being awarded the Mark of Excellence in 2002 and 2004, winning the Northern Ireland Quality Award in 2006 and the EFQM European Quality Award in 2007.
Investors in People – The Cedar Foundation has been an Investor in People since 1997 and became an Investor in People Champion in 2007.
ISO 9001:2000 – The Cedar Foundation has operated an ISO 9001:2000 quality management system for the whole organisation since 2005.
The Support Worker is part of the team whose function is to meet the practical, physical and emotional needs of individuals in receipt of services within the Cedar Foundation Supported Living Schemes.
Responsible for the provision of human resource support to The Cedar Foundation by undertaking a wide range of HR core competency responsibilities such as Recruitment & Selection; Payroll; Employee relations; Employee Engagement; general HR administration.
The Bank Support Worker ispart of the team whose function is to meet the practical, physical and emotional needs of individuals in receipt of services within the Cedar Foundation Supported Living Schemes.
The Support Worker is part of the staff team, providing services for adults who have learning disabilities and associated conditions within the registered residential home.
