Job title: Senior Programme Manager

Location: Northern Ireland Headquarters, Belfast.

Starting Salary: £39,970 to £43,301 per annum

Basis: Full time – Fixed Term position

This is an exciting time to join RSPB Northern Ireland as we set ourselves up to deliver major programmes of work and realise the benefits for nature, people and our staff.  As the Senior Programme Manager, you will join the Northern Ireland Management Team and will make sure that we have the right programmes and projects in place to deliver our ambitious business plan.    

You will be required to put in place the right vision, purpose and governance structures, following the RSPB project management framework to ensure the programmes and associated projects meet their objectives, support our strategic priorities, and deliver on time and to budget. You will have experience of supporting or acting as a Programme Executive and/or Sponsor, producing all the relevant documentation to keep stakeholders and partners informed, and managing risks, dependencies, budget, benefits and progress against plan.

This role will also provide direction and motivation for the programme / project, delivery and support teams achieving lasting change and maintaining clarity of the goal. You will need to be a strong communicator with the ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, include senior external and internal stakeholders, and to produce clear written communications translating complex requirements into simple language.  You will also be expected to contribute to the development of programme management best practice across RSPB, acting as an exemplar and coaching and mentoring other programme and project managers.
