RIAS was launched in 1992 under the name Insurance Advisory Service (IAS). As times have changed, so have we, and in 2004 we re-launched our brand as RIAS to reflect more accurately our dynamism, mission and values. We also added the strap-line "Insurance for the over-50s" to clearly reflect our proposition.

Today, we're the UK's fastest organically growing insurance intermediary and an autonomous division of the international finance and banking group Fortis. In January 2005 we became fully regulated by the FSA.

We're one of the largest providers of general insurance in the UK's over-50s market, with more than 950,000 customers, a track record of over 20% compound growth and employ over 1,200 members of staff.

Every day we move closer to our goal of becoming first choice for private motor and household insurance for the over 50s.

The RIAS head office is in Bournemouth, Dorset and our Belfast office are both enjoying continuing growth. We have a staff incentive/motivation programme, which includes Employee of the Month awards, two staff social events every year and a Directors Award. There are also many valuable incentives, particularly for the call centres based on targets.
