Are you a high calibre Production Leader with several years’ experience of working within a fast moving, highly automated manufacturing environment?   Then I want to speak to you urgently!

I am working with one of NI’s most successful manufacturing organisations, rated as an “employer of choice” with many and who operate a wide range of highly automated production plant.    This is a high pressure, high volume, regulated environment with the need to perform to extremely high standards, therefore candidates who are professional, articulate and able to deal appropriately and effectively throughout the organisation, is what I am looking for.

The Role:

The Production Leader will take responsibility for: 

  • Scheduling production across the entire shift, managing and directing a team of c. 25 people
  • Effectively managing all resources, within a safe & healthy environment, to consistently deliver both short and long term operational targets, on time, and bettering or meeting budget requirements.
  • Drive high standards of product safety & quality, through the consistent delivery of housekeeping, hygiene, process control & training requirements.
  • Act as a champion for World Class manufacturing across the site and embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout your team to beat the cost of goods targets.
  • Take responsibility for attainment of all department KPI's and for leading, training and developing your team to ensure an environment of challenge and performance and to meet the goals and aspirations of your reporting team.

This is a rotational shift role with a very good shift pattern – no Saturday working and only one Sunday shift within a 3 week period.   Candidates can be provided with an exact shift pattern if required.

You'll need:

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished industry professional with significant experience in a similar role in an FMCG/ manufacturing environment and will ideally hold an engineering qualification.

  • Proven team leadership skills, with ability to lead, motivate to achieve high standards
  • Sound practical knowledge of engineering principles, ideally gained within a lean manufacturing environment
  • Ability to drive change and business improvement
  • Computer literacy (M’Soft Office Suite and ERP applications)
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality, Safety and Environment Management Systems
  • Excellent communication skills – able to deal effectively
