Profile of Role:

A Microsoft SQL Server developer is required to work within the Rates Risk and CVA Technology Team towards the continued development of their modern risk technology platform.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within Rates Risk and CVA Technology, cooperating with multiple trading desks, market risk managers and financial controllers to develop this strategically important platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Development of standard valuation/risk feeds leveraging an in-house feed framework from a Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouse
  • Extracting data from the warehouse for use in reports, scorecards, dashboards, business intelligence and analytical modelling
  • Evolving the data warehouse design to meet new business requirements
  • Requirements analysis and capture, working closely with risk managers and product controllers to define solutions
  • Liaison with global internal business, support and development teams
  • Applying an understanding of Rates financial products to the full development lifecycle

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written; ability to face off to all business users (risk managers, financial controllers, etc.)
  • Good team working skills and ability to work in a distributed global team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with determination to achieve goals.
  • Flexible and able to deliver quality results in the required timeframe
  • Experience in full lifecycle development
  • Ability to influence with or without authority

Essential Criteria

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and the SQL-92 standard
  • Leads by example in support of organizational initiatives by exhibiting in-depth knowledge of technical issues and products
  • Project work experience in a mission-critical technology environment
  • Proven experience of development and implementation of business initiatives and client solutions
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level, preferably in Computing / Information Systems

 Desirable Criteria

 

  • Basic knowledge of interest rate products, e.g. government bonds, interest rate swaps, vanilla options and exotic

  •  Work in a leading banking environment on a modern risk system software development using a large-scale data warehouse
  • Gain an advanced understanding of Rates business, markets, products & flows
  • Advance knowledge of market and credit risk measures, processes and systems
