First Choice require Contact Worker’s

 Main Duties/Responsibilities

 Direct practice with children and families

  1. Undertakes work under the direction of the Team Leader or Social Worker and in keeping with the assessed Care Plan.
  2. Undertakes the arrangement and delivery of services, assessed by social work staff as needed to support children and families.  This will include a significant amount of direct contact with children and families.
  3. Undertakes tasks which have been delegated which may include co-ordinating family support, diversionary and respite services, sourcing appropriate Family Support Services/Resources.
  4. Assists in delivery of contact services including the supervision of contact arrangements as directed.  This will include transport issues and ensuring completion of appropriate documentation*.
  5. Assist Social Workers setting up and facilitating Case Planning Meetings, Case Discussions etc and also assisting families and/or children to attend such meetings eg transport, supervision of children accompanied at meetings.
  6. To report all identified Child Protection concerns or other areas of concern or risk identified in the course of undertaking tasks with children and families.
  7. Maintain clear records of all work undertaken.
  8. Provide reports on tasks undertaken on behalf of social work staff.
  9. Participate in supervision process with Team Leader.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  1. Either currently hold or be eligible for immediate registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council on the social care part of the register.
  2. Ability to produce clear written reports and records.
  3. Applicants must hold either NVQ Level 3, Health & Social Care or relevant equivalent qualification plus two years relevant experience.

Or HNC/HND in relevant subject, or relevant equivalent qualification, plus one year relevant experience or four years relevant experience

  1. UK driving licence and access to a car.

 

 

         

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  1. Have six month experience working in Contact Service.
