Vickerstock are currently working with a leading Surveying Consultancy based in Belfast that specialise in public sector and housing executive surveying. They are seeking to appoint and experienced Building Surveyor to join their team.

Building Surveyor Role Overview
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting commercial surveys on pre and post contract projects, working closely with public sector clients and reporting back on current conditions with the view of making any recommendations for improvements.

Building Surveyor: Duties

  • Advise clients on schemes and projects and determine requirements.
  • Complete Building Surveys to determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including submittal of proposals for repair or improvement.
  • Advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction.
  • Instruct on Health & Safety aspects of buildings and structures
  • Advise on the proper maintenance of buildings.
  • Work within British building regulations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies.
  • Prepare assessment documentation
  • Identification of building defects & offering advice
  • Completion of technical reports

Building Surveyor: Essential Criteria

  • 5 years + experience as a Building Surveyor
  • Experience working within the social housing sector
  • Educated to degree level in Building Surveying
  • Experience working directly with clients

Building Surveyor: Desirable Criteria

  • Ideally you will be a Chartered Building Surveyor
  • Experience of working on NEC Contracts
