WHAT IS RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It enables internet users
to subscribe to feeds that notify them of updates from a content
provider.
RSS ON NIjobs.com
Jobseekers can now subscribe to customised RSS feeds on
NIjobs.com notifying them of new job postings.
HOW DOES IT BENEFIT ME THE JOBSEEKER?
- It's a really easy way to get instant job alerts straight to
your desktop.
- It doesn't require access to your email account. Jobs are updated
through RSS and not by email.
- Whereas email alerts are sent usually once a day, RSS feeds are constantly
updated throughout the day, meaning you'll find out about new jobs
within minutes of them being advertised.
- You will gain a competitive advantage over non RSS jobseekers, being
the first to see positions as they become available.
- Saves you valuable time when searching for a job.
HOW CAN I SET IT UP?
If you are already familiar with RSS feeds, then you can use the popular "orange
button".
If not, before you can fully benefit from RSS feeds you will need to
set up a net personalised portal page.
Select a "news reader" from our recommended software list
below and install one of them following their instructions. (These
links will open new browser windows)

Once this has been set up, the process couldn't be simpler!
Step 1
Carry out a job search relevant to you. Select recruiter type, category,
location of interest and keywords relevant to the job you are looking
for. The more specific the keywords, the more relevant the job listings.
Step 2
Once role has been selected you will be brought to the job listings
page.
Step 3
Select relevant "news reader" and add job listings to your
personalised page. Jobs matching your selected criteria will be updated
onto your personalised page as soon as new jobs are posted onto NIjobs.com.
